You&#039;ve been fine in the past, so it stands to reason your methods are sound (fantastic logic, no?). Again, I think tomatoes are right on the fence anyway--in terms of recommended method. And I don&#039;t think we&#039;re that fastidious...we just dropped more money on equipment than may have been necessary.

I was hoping to get your feedback on this--how has canning stacked up money-wise and ethics-wise for you? Is it cheaper to buy tomatoes earlier in the season? Or when you canned were you just trying to finish before the semester started?</description>
